Our Staff

 

	Mike Leamon - Executive Director Mike has been employed by Camp Chaparral since 1992.  He served as the Assistant Director for 4 years and has been the Director since 1998. Education: Graduate of Midwestern State University, B.A.A.S./ Biology Ordained Deacon October 16. 1994 – Faith Baptist Church, WF TX Licensed to Ministry December 8, 2002 – Faith Baptist Church, WF TX Ordained Minister January 13, 2008 - Faith Baptist Church WF TX  Wife: Sheri, Teacher and Dyslexia Therapist in Iowa Park CISD Children: Alex and Mallory  Mike and his family are members of Faith Baptist Church in Wichita Falls.
	Steve Sparks - Assistant Director Steve came to Chaparral in the fall of 2005. Education:   B.S.O.E./Electrical – Wayland Baptist University,  M.A.R.E. – Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Licensed to Ministry 1982 – Jefferson Street Baptist Church, Wichita Falls Ordained to Ministry 1984 – Southside Baptist Church, Wichita Falls Wife:   Pam Children:   Erica and Justin Steve and Pam are members at First Baptist Church of Wichta Falls.
	Doug Gaskey - Foodservice Director Doug has been a part of the Chaparral staff since March 2003 as our Food Service Director.  Wife: Ginnie, Jr. High Science Teacher, WFISD Children: Brandie, Justin, Amber, Melinda, Greg Doug and his family are members of Lamar Baptist Church in Wichita Falls.
	David Dietrichson - Maintenance David has served fulltime since 1999 as our maintenance director.  Wife: Julie, 3rd Grade Teacher Iowa Park CISD Children: Olivia, Ridgely, and Evan  David and his family are members of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park.
	Heather Cooper - Office Manager  Heather joined our staff in February of 2005  Education: Midwestern State and Wayland Baptist Husband: Ken Cooper Children: Matthew Heather and her family are members of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park.
	Trish Decker - Housekeeping Trish joined our staff in February of 2005  Education:  Husband: Danny   Children: Lindsey and Lauren  Trish and her family are members of Faith Baptist Church in Wichita Falls.
	Nathan McDonald – Ropes Course Director  Nathan has served at Camp Chaparral since 2003.  He has served one year as a summer staffer,one year as the Servant Leadership Coordinator and presently serves as the Ropes Course Director.  Nathan will soon graduate from MSU with a degree in Management.  Nathan is a member of Faith Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.
	Cole Yarbrough – Director of Hunting and Fishing  Cole has been at Chaparral since October 2007. Wife: Saige Children: Callen and Jace

Mark Solomon – Staff

Mark volunteers about half of the time he spends at Camp Chaparral.  He is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park.  Mark spends many hours helping David with the camp maintenance.

Cindy Denman – Cook

Cindy has been a part time worker since 2003.  She is a member at Lamar Baptist Church in Wichita Falls.  Cindy works in the Dining Hall as a cook. 

Wanda Davis – Volunteer

Wanda has served at Camp Chaparral since 1988.  She was the Foodservice Director from 1988 until 1997.  Wanda now serves as a volunteer receptionist and prayer warrior for Camp Chaparral.  She is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Wichita Falls.

Ken and Geri Dixon – Volunteers

Ken and Geri have helped out at Camp Chaparral since 2000.  Ken helps out in many maintenance areas and Geri helps out in the Dining Hall.  They are members of First Baptist Church Wichita Falls.

Jim and Betty Hansard - Staff 

Jim and Betty are new to the Chaparral Team.  They are members of the Campers On Missions.  They are from the Wichita Falls area and they now call Camp Chaparral their “home base”.  Jim helps out with the maintenance and Betty helps out in the office.  They are members of Thornberry Baptist Church. 

Don and Aretha Lewis - Volunteers 

Don and Aretha answer the phone and help out in the Green Barn Store.  They are members at Southside Baptist Church.

Robert And Pat Sparks - Volunteers

Robert and Pat help out in the Green Barn Store and are the parents of Assistant Director Steve Sparks.  They are members of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park.
